BEAUTY AROUND US

I was very blessed to have spent our 35th wedding anniversary in Hawaii. Words cannot begin to describe the beauty of those islands. The beaches, mountains, craters, waterfalls, and flowers were absolutely gorgeous. How anyone can see these magnificent creations and not believe in our God is beyond me. "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place and let dry ground appear. And it was so. God called the dry ground land, and the gathered waters he called seas. And God saw that it was good." (Gen. 1:9-10)

I was in total awe of the scenery I was fortunate to see. Let's remember to thank God each day for the majesty and wonder of his creation. Whether it's a beach in Maui or a bright, red cardinal in your own backyard, give thanks. Thank him for eyes to see magnificent flowers and ears to hear the cheerful chirping of birds. Give thanks for the ability to smell the luscious aroma of flowers. We get so busy with our day to day lives and with our service in the church that we forget to notice the beauty of creation all around us everyday. "For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him."
(1 Col. 16)

So let's all remember to take time to "stop and smell the roses" and to give thanks to our loving Father who blessed us with the beauty he created for us. Have a great week!
